Autoportraits. Walking from my studio in Mare Street on May 20th 1987, my destination was the City and my mission to photograph the Rolls-Royce share sell off in Bishopsgate. The roads south were gridlocked in the frenzy to cash in on this bonanza of privatisation created by the Thatcher government. The images document the traffic jam and the resigned frustration of the captive riders & drivers. The images were published in 2015 by Hoxton Mini Press in the book Drivers of the 1980s.
